Photographs of the Vans RV-6A built by John Edser and powered by a Norvic Experimental engine.
Hi Richard, I thought that you might like some pictures of my Vans RV-6A which flew successfully for the first time on Saturday 17th April from Wickenby airfield in Lincolnshire. The first flight was conducted by Nigel Redish who has conducted no less than 26 first flights of RV series aircraft. On landing, Nigel reported that the aircraft flew very well and that he managed to achieve 174 knots in straight and level flight: a good indicator of the airframe and engine performance. All temperatures and pressures were found to be normal and on close inspection of the engine following the flight no leaks or other problems were found. Starting has been easy, even when the engine is hot: something that can be a problem with fuel injected engines.
Having spent 5,000 hours over a ten year period building my aircraft, it is comforting to know so much care has gone into building me such a good engine. Please accept my grateful thanks and extend them to your workshop team.
With best wishes for the future...
John Edser
